Biography
Tobias Vincent Maguire was born on June 27, 1975, in Santa Monica, California. He was encouraged by his mother to go and take acting lessons and so she went within a short time span with him to auditions in Hollywood. He did small acting gigs in sitcoms such as Roseanne and Blossom, he did leave school in the ninth grade to give himself completely to acting and make his dreams come true. Through this extreme devotion he got a part in the FOX show Great Scott! Which eventually was cancelled already after nine weeks. He then auditioned in the year of 95 for the lead role in the Generation X comedy Empire Records. He then starred, after quite the time out of the acting business, in Duke of Groove which did get an Academy Award nomination. He then got a role in the Woody Allen gig Deconstructing Harry in 97 and after this part he got a huge part in The Ice Storm by Ang Lee. He then got a small role in the film adaption of the very well known novel by Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, where he starred next to the amazing actor Johnny Depp. After this little gig he did a role again as a teenager who has to grow up in the film The Cider House Rules, also a film adaption but this time of a John Irving novel. This film actually got seven academy award nominations. After this he got tougher so it seemed when he starred in Wonder Boys in 2000 and then after that the doors of stardom opened, when he found himself playing the film adaption of the comic book hero Spiderman, he earned a fortune from this movie and is now known as the Amazing Spiderman. He did this with great style and he has already done a sequel and is working on the third in the series.
